The Angels Are Singing With Luciano Pavarotti

As many of you know, I spent the early part of my career as an opera singer, and I studied and admired many of the greatest opera singers around. But I think most people would agree that the greatest modern opera singer in the world was Luciano Pavarotti.

It is with great sadness that we honor his passing on September 6, 2007 in Modena, Italy. He died quietly in his bed of pancreatic cancer.

Many people knew him as one-third of the troupe The Three Tenors. However, he became the people's tenor when in 1990 he opened the World's Cup with his signature song, Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot.

Heaven has one more amazing singer for its choir of angels. Rest in peace, Luciano. You will be greatly missed!
